myEdenry uses AI models for plant identification, plant health diagnosis, voice-journal transcription and event extraction, and the garden assistant. This page explains what that means for the trust you should place in those features.
1. Confidence is never certainty
Every identification candidate and every diagnosis cause is shown with a confidence indicator (a percentage for identification, a low/medium/high level for diagnosis). A high confidence score means a result is likely, not guaranteed. We deliberately never present a single, unqualified answer for identification or diagnosis, because the underlying models can be wrong, especially for uncommon species, poor-quality photos, or conditions that visually resemble each other.
2. Never consume a plant based on app identification alone
Do not eat any plant, or feed any plant to a pet or animal, based solely on an identification shown in myEdenry. Many toxic plants closely resemble edible ones. If you intend to forage, harvest, or otherwise consume a plant you are not already certain about, verify its identity through additional independent, qualified sources before consumption.
3. Toxicity and pet-safety information may be incomplete
Where shown, toxicity-to-humans and toxicity-to-pets fields in our plant database are provided for general awareness only and may be incomplete, outdated, or inapplicable to a specific variety, growth stage, or plant part. If you suspect a person or pet has ingested a potentially toxic plant, contact emergency medical services, a poison control service, or a veterinarian immediately - do not rely on the app.
4. Diagnosis is not a medical or professional judgment
Plant diagnosis results are a starting point for investigation, combining image analysis with your logged care history and local weather. They are not a substitute for inspection by a qualified horticulturist, agricultural extension service, or nursery professional, particularly for commercially significant plants or suspected disease outbreaks that could spread.
5. No dangerous treatment instructions
myEdenry does not provide instructions for mixing, applying, or using pesticides, fungicides, or other chemicals in ways that could be hazardous. Treatment suggestions are limited to generally recognized, low-risk gardening practices. Always follow the manufacturer's label instructions for any product you use, and consult a professional for anything beyond routine home gardening.
6. The garden assistant answers from your data, not invention
The garden assistant is designed to answer questions using your actual logged garden history and retrieved context, not to invent facts about your garden. It should never be treated as a source of truth for your account state, subscription status, or scheduled tasks - those are always read directly from our database, never generated by the AI.
7. Reporting a problem
Every recommendation, identification, and diagnosis includes a feedback control (“Was this useful?”). Please use it, or contact us through our contact page, if you encounter an identification, diagnosis, or recommendation that seems wrong or unsafe.
